Version History: LCARS Interface [Windows Phone]

This page will keep track of what changes are in each version of LCARS Interface that hits the Windows Phone Store. If you haven't updated the program in a while, this page will let you find out about all the new features that you might not have found yet!

Release 14 (Windows Phone 8.1 only)

• App re-written to support Windows Phone Runtime (no more Silverlight) for many performance enhancements and new features.

3 Brand new modules:

1. eBook Viewer (supports non-DRM protected .epub files)
2. Holo Cam. Special themed camera module with most basic features for any camera.
3. Image Viewer for checking out and managing photos taken with the Holo Cam! (or any other photos in your picture library.)

Updates to existing modules:

• Calculator can now operate Scientific functions in Portrait mode.
• Text Log editor will now open any .txt files.
• Audio and Video logs now operate from Music and Video libraries for ease of file transfer and backups.
• Many additional modules now support Landscape orientation.
• Lots of new animations, sounds, and performance optimizations for low end hardware.

Release 13: (Current WP 8.0/WP7.5+)

• Clock now supports Landscape orientation.

Release 12:

• Fixed some additional lingering issues with trig function calculation in Calculator module.

Release 11:

• Fixed an issue in the Calculator with incorrect answers being given when in Degrees mode.

Release 10:

• Changed 5 day forecast weather icons to show daytime icons instead of night icons.
• Atmosphere module can now display data in Imperial or Metric units.
• New GEN Red Alert Klaxon available!
• Bug and animation fixes

Release 9:

• New Weather icons!
• Changed 5 Day Forecast screen to be much more readable on small screens.
• Added ability to scan weather for current location.
• Various animation adjustments

Release 8:

• Fixed some issues with the Weather module. It should be faster and more reliable now.

Release 7:

• Added new Scanner module, currently with Compass and magnetic field measuring modes.
• New start animation with new sounds.
• Fixed issue with resuming from standby in some modules.
• Bug fixes.

Release 6:

• Added new Battery module (WP8 only)
• Added ability to turn off extra animations from General section of Settings page.
• Added lots of new animations for many screens when "Extra Animations" is enabled (especially during Red Alert).
• Added more appropriate keyboard settings to all text entry boxes including Text Logs (adds autocorrect and word suggestions, etc).
• Added scrolling to Text Log entry box.
• Secondary tile for Weather is now a live tile!
• Fixed Clock to properly update the time.
• Fixed Clock to properly switch between 12/24 hour modes (previously it only worked in certain regions).
• Fixed weather to not lock up the UI while scanning.
• Fixed black screen issue when returning from lock screen.
• Added new Splash screen image (WP7 only)

Release 5:

• You can now pin a tile to the Start Screen for any of the LCARS Interface modules! This will allow quick access to separate modules without having to enter through the main interface.
• Fixed GUI for recording Audio Logs.
• More optimizations to sounds and animations to make transitions even more fluid.

Release 4:

• Uploading all log types to SkyDrive is now supported! (Windows Phone 8 only for now.)
• Additional performance enhancements and tweaks to sounds and visuals throughout the app.

Release 3:

• Audio and video logs are now available!
• Added animations and adjusted control and text sizes on many pages for best experience across many device sizes.

Release 2 (WP7/WP8):

• Updated Settings menu to more closely match Windows 8 Settings page.
• Added ability to select Voyager Red Alert sound in addition to TNG.
• Added "About" Page for accessing our social media pages and this development blog.
• Fixed an issue with the Countdown timer in the Clock module (Only WP7 had this issue)
